At the beginning of the meeting, Mona Mubarak Kanoo, the Vice-chairperson of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo, and HE Dr Saad Al Fuhaid, on the occasion of his appointment as President of the Arabian Gulf University, wishing him good luck and success in his new mission and praising the advanced level that the Arabian Gulf University has reached in the field of science and research and in the level of curricula at the university.
She also recalled the merits of the late Dr Khalid Al Ohali, the former President of the Arabian Gulf University and member of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, and his contributions to the development of both the university and the Award.
HE Dr Saad Al Fuhaid affirmed that the Arabian Gulf University welcomes distinguished community initiatives such as The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, which was established twenty-five years ago, in which it contributed to the benefit of the Arab researchers and innovators, and encouraged scientific research and studies that are in the interest of Arab societies. He also welcomed the idea of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions that would enhance cooperation between them and be in the interest of the development of education and scientific research.
The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Trustees of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, Dr Ebrahim AlHashemi, Dr Nadhem Al-Saleh, Dr Waleed Zubari, Dr Hassan Kamal, and Mr Mohammed Darwish, the Secretary-General of The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award.
